How we work

Four quiet steps between hello and your heirloom album

No shot-list chaos, no "smile please". A PHERA wedding is planned like a film shoot and photographed like a family gathering.

Chai at the studio

We meet you both — at Waterfield Road or on a call — and listen to how you met, who cries easily, and which grandmother runs the show.

The recce & the plan

We walk your venues at the same hour as your events, chart the light, and write a beat-sheet for the film — not a shot list, a story plan.

The wedding days

Two to six of us, dressed like guests, working quietly. You will forget we are there. That is exactly when the real photographs happen.

The reveal

A 48-hour sneak peek, a private online gallery in 4 weeks, your film in 8, and a hand-bound album that smells like a library.

Our shot-list philosophy

We don't chase 400 poses. We wait for eleven honest moments.

Every wedding has them: the father who looks away so no one sees him cry, the friends who scream the sangeet chorus, the two of you whispering during the pheras. Our shot-list is a list of feelings, not poses.

  • The eleven-moment audit. Before your wedding we agree on the eleven moments that must exist — and we guard them with our lives.
  • Available light first. Flash is a last resort. We would rather move a diya than fire a strobe into your grandmother's face.
  • The 30-minute couple walk. The only "posed" time we ask for. The rest of the day belongs to your wedding, not our camera.

Ira Shetty

Ex-photojournalist, 14 years behind a camera, incapable of asking anyone to pose. Ira shoots the quiet frames — hands, glances, the second before the tears. Her favourite lens has been dented since a baraat in Jodhpur.

Trained in ad films, converted to weddings after editing his own sister's. Vedant directs our cinematic films — the trailers that make your friends cry at their office desks. He grades every film himself, frame by frame.

Is your date still free?

We take a maximum of four weddings a month, and peak sangeet-season dates go a year out. Rose-marked dates are already booked — tap any free date to place a soft hold.

Hard drives fail and clouds expire. A PHERA album is built like a book from another century — on purpose.

310 gsm cotton-rag pages, pigment printed. Rated 100+ years without fading — longer than any of us will need it to last.

Every spread opens dead flat so a panoramic phera frame runs uninterrupted across 60 centimetres. Bound by a bindery in Byculla, not a lab.

The questions every couple actually asks

You do, at actuals — and we keep it boringly transparent. Economy flights or 2AC trains, twin-shared rooms near your venue, and a shared crew car. We book with your planner or send receipts, whichever you prefer. For Alibaug / Karjat / Lonavala we usually just drive down and bill fuel.
Two photographers for photo-only weddings; a four-member crew for photo + film; six with the drone unit on destination weddings. Ira or Vedant personally leads every single one — we never sell a wedding to a freelance team.
A sneak-peek set of 30 frames within 48 hours. The full edited gallery in 4 weeks. Films in 8 weeks — grading cannot be rushed. Albums ship about 3 weeks after you approve the layout. Destination weddings add roughly a week.
Yes — a free 7-day soft hold from the calendar above. Confirmation is a signed agreement and a 30% retainer; the balance is split 40% a week before the wedding and 30% on gallery delivery. Peak muhurat dates need the retainer to lock.
Of course — weddings are family events, not closed sets. We only ask to choreograph the mandap and the couple walk ourselves, so nobody's flash lands in our film. We are friendly people; your uncle with the DSLR will love us.
You get every usable frame, fully edited, in full resolution with a print licence. Raws are our negatives — we archive them for 5 years and will re-edit anything you like, but unedited files never represent our work (or your wedding) fairly.
